SCHHA Mission
Founded in 1987, SCHHA exercises sovereignty on Hawaiian Home Lands in service to the well-being of HBAs and enrolled members of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1920 (HHCA).
The following SCHHA Council Members are serving a 4-year term from 2023 to 2027.
KIPUKAI KUALII
Chair Kualii is President of his local HBA where he resides on Hawaiian Home Lands in Anahola, Kauai. He is employed by the YWCA and serves as an elected Kauai County Council member.
MAILE LUUWAI
Vice Chair Lu`uwai is President of her local HBA where she resides on Hawaiian Home Lands in Panaewa, Hawaii Island. She is a Project Administrator for the City and County of Honolulu specializing in federal grant administration and compliance.
IWALANI MCBRAYER
Council Member McBrayer is President of her local HBA where she resides on Hawaiian Home Lands in Kaupea, Oahu. She is a small business owner experienced in retail and construction industries.
SYBIL LOPEZ
Council Member Lopez is President of her local HBA where she resides on Hawaiian Home Lands in Kalamaula, Molokai. She is employed by the County of Maui as a planner.
KAINOA MACDONALD
Council Member MacDonald is a member of her HBA dedicated to over 29,000 native Hawaiians waiting for an allotment of Hawaiian Home Lands to reside, farm or ranch. She is an avid volunteer and community organizer on the island of Maui.
The SCHHA is an all-volunteer Homestead Beneficiary Association and coalition. Its Chair and Vice Chair, along with its Council Members set the course and actions of the SCHHA.

Convene consistently with and among each of the five Island Regions or Mokupuni.
Annual Hawaiian Home Lands Sovereignty Conference
Since 1987, SCHHA convenes its annual conference to bring HBAs, enrolled trust land members, families, partners and stakeholders together.
